Christian Siemer was a muralist and painter born in New Zealand on November 22, 1874. Siemer settled in Los Angeles in 1906 and remained a resident until his death. He is best remembered for a series of mural-size canvasses of Los Angeles which were commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce to promote the area. An Impressionist, his compositions generally contain architecture. He died on February 6, 1940.

Exhibited: Century of Progress Fair: Golden Gate International Exposition, 1939; California State Fairs; Del Mar Fairgrounds, 1940.

Works Held: Fieldstone Collection; Hotel Laguna (Laguna Beach).
